A Case of Transpubic Urethroplasty
Abstract
Strictures resulting from prostatomembranous urethral disruption secondary to pelvic fractures present major problems in surgical management, owing to their location above the urogenital diaphragm and behind the pubis.
Excision of the wedge of pubic bone provided excellent exposure for the prostatic and the membranous urethra without orthopedic disability.
A patient underwent transpubic urethroplasty for the membranous urethral stricture without adversely affecting continence or potency.
